Green Folk


Beings of hidden passions, the Green Folk hide their emotions deep in order to gird themselves from any form of assault. They combine the brutish savagery of their Lizardfolk ancestors with the broad adaptability and versatility of humanity.

Physical Description

Green folk have the appearance of trim, well-formed humans except for their skin, eyes, and webbed and taloned hands and feet. Most have dark green skin, with darker stripes or spotted patterns beginning at the neck and running across the shoulders and down the spine. Many have lighter coloration on their chest and stomach. Green folk have vertically slit-pupiled eyes that are yellow, red, orange, brown or a spectacular mix of these colors. Some are entirely hairless, while others have thick dark green, brown or black hair.


Relations


Alignment and Religion

Green folk seem to naturally take to having both Red and White in their color makeup, being emotional creatures that are used to a tribal, survivalist mindset.


Adventurers

Green folk view their adventuring bands as an improptu tribe, working best with those of martial skill. They are inherently suspicious of spellcasters of all kinds and are especially critical of those who use Divine magic, requiring them to prove themselves before respect is garnered.



Racial Statistics

+2 to One Ability Score: Green folk get a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature.
Medium: Green folk are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Green folk have a base land speed of 30 feet.
Darkvision: Green folk can see in total darkness out to 60 feet. This vision is black and white but is otherwise the same as regular vision.
Claws: Green folk possess two claw attacks that deal damage for a creature of their size category.
Healthy Specimen: Green folk receive a +2 racial bonus on Fortitude saves and gains Endurance as a bonus feat.
Hold Breath: Green folk can hold their breath for a number of rounds equal to five times their Constitution score before risking drowning or suffocation.
Like an Alligator: Green folk receive a +3 racial bonus on Intimidate and Swim checks. This bonus increases to +5 when the Green folk has 10 Hit Dice and to +7 when the Green folk has 20 or more Hit Dice.
Of the Swamp: Green folk gain a +2 competence bonus on Swim skill checks and on Strength checks to break free of nets, webs, entangle spells, and similar hindrances.
Toughened Scales: Green folk have +2 Natural armor.
War Ready: Green folk are always considered proficient with any weapon that has axe in the name.
