Jann-kin


Courageous, hot-blooded and pragmatic, Jann-kin have lost little of the iconic personalities of their Janni ancestors though have been colored by the dog eat dog world that a metropolis life style can bring to even the most formerly noble of races.

Physical Description

Jann-kin are almost indistinguishable from the humans and Janni they descended from, varying in appearance and build as much as they had. What Jann-kin have in common with one another is the fact that they tend to have earthy skin tones, ears that taper to points and eyes that match the energy type that they have resistance to.

Alignment and Religion

Jann-kin almost always have Red as their primary color and seem to take to having Black as a secondary.


Adventurers

Jann-kin, while suited to city life, always feel some drawing to the untamed and dangerous wilds of the world, this leading them to easily becoming adventurers at some point during their lives.



Racial Statistics

+2 to One Ability Score: Jann-kin get a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature.
Medium: Jann-kin are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Jann-kin have a base land speed of 30 feet.
Elemental Resistance: Jann-kin select one of the four classical energies (fire, acid, cold and electricity) at creation. Once this choice is made it can not be changed. The Jann-kin has Resistance 5 to the selected energy type.
Innate Knacks: Jann-kin receive a +3 racial bonus to Appraise and Spellcraft skill checks. This bonus increases to +5 when the Jann-kin has 10 Hit Dice and to +7 when the Jann-kin has 20 or more Hit Dice.
Janni Magic: Jann-kin can cast Create Food and Water, Light, and Speak with Animals as spell-like abilities once per day.
Move like the Wind: Jann-kin receive a +2 racial bonus on Reflex saving throws.
Mystical Annoyance: Jann-kin receive a +1 racial bonus on saving throws against spells, spell-like abilities and similar effects.
Skilled: Jann-kin receive one extra skill point at 1st level and every level thereafter.
Weapon Familiarity: Jann-kin are proficient with the Scimitar.
